Tips for Driving in the Rain | Baton Rouge, LA

When the rain gets in the way of you getting where you need to be, Price LeBlanc Nissan is here to give you tips for making your drive safe!

1. Only Make Necessary Drives

If the rain outside looks pretty heavy and it may be going on for a while, take the time to consider whether your trip is worth taking. If so, keep reading.

2. Drive at a Slow Speed

If you feel uncomfortable, that is enough reason to slow down during heavy rain, even if those behind you feel they need to move around you. Drive at your own pace to make sure you get to your destination calmly and safely.

3. Headlights are a Yes, Brights are a No

Turning on your headlights during a stormy drive can help you see where you are going. At the moment, it may seem like a good idea to turn your brights on, but don’t do it! Turning your brights on can reflect that light off of the wet ground and irritate you as well as other drivers.

4. Don’t Drive in Deep Waters

It can be hard to tell how much water is on the road when driving in the rain. Remember this. If you are unable to see the markings on the road ahead, the water is too deep. Go ahead and pull over, and find a different route if possible. If not, wait for the rain to subside.
