Typically your vehicle requires an oil change every 5,000 to 7,000 miles traveled or approximately every 6 months. If you have gotten your oil changed in the past, most service centers add a sticker in the corner of your windshield that will tell you when your next oil change is due. If you are unsure, it’s best to check your oil!

How do I check my oil?

• Lift the Hood of your Vehicle- It’s best to wait for a time when you have not driven your car recently, if you have driven your car recently, give your engine some time to cool off to prevent yourself from touching the hot engine. With the engine off, lift the hood of your vehicle.
• Locate The Dipstick- Every car has a dipstick, the location of this dipstick will vary depending on your make and model of vehicle. We recommend checking your owners manual for the location if you are unsure where it is located.
• Remove and Reinsert the Dipstick- Once you have located the dipstick, pull it out and wipe it off, then re-insert the dipstick all the way.
• Analyze the Oil On The Dipstick- After you remove the dipstick the second time, check the oil on it. Is it black? Does it meet the line on the dipstick? If your oil is black or it’s running low, it is time for an oil change or top off.
